The European Organisation for Strategic Planning in collaboration with WASTE EXPO '04 organised a delegation of Local Self-government actors to visit and participate to the Conference - Exhibition for Self-government. The Conference was held in Miami, Florida and in Dallas, Texas of USA.
The subjects of the Conference were:
- Protection of the environment and the atmosphere.
- Management of solid and liquid waste.
- Biological cleaning and new technologies.
- Technology of waste management equipment.
- Administrative regulations for the collection, recycling separation and processing of solid waste.
- Alternative forms of fuel in the waste industry.
- Financial mechanisms - viable development of cities.
- Administration of financial programs for lllandfill and for the environment in general and financial administration for the Self-government organisations on environmental issues.
- Corporate relationship of private entities with Self-government bodies.
- New rules and garbage collection.
- Administration at the source.
- Administration of facilities, maintenance of fleet.
- Recycling of plastic, paper, materials.
- Public health and hospital waste.
- Administration of pathological and chemotherapeutic waste.
At the same time, training seminars were held regarding the Public Sector, the Private Sector on issues of waste management, as well as issues for waste technology. Self-government and Public Sector bodies participated to the Conference - Exhibition, as well as entities of the private sector and entities providing services for waste from the entire world
The European Organisation for Strategic Planning operates within the framework of the new reality, which demands collective study and treatment of modern issues, as much on a European as on an International level.
